We hosted more cleanups, brought more people together, and removed more litter than ever before.
Walking For Rochester has grown from just 7 cleanups in 2021 to 153 in 2026. Even after jumping to 109 events in 2025, we grew another 40% this year. In five years, our cleanup operation has grown nearly 22 times larger, allowing us to reach more streets, neighborhoods, and communities across Rochester.
Events ran per year:
2024: 42
2025: 109
2026: 153
Community participation continues to grow alongside our cleanup program. Attendance has increased from 70 people in 2021 to 1,126 in 2026, more than 16 times our first season. From 2024 (441 attendees) to 2026 (1,126 attendees), we grew by 155%!
Attendees per year:
2024: 441
2025: 851
2026: 1,126
In 2026, Walking For Rochester removed 12,522.3 pounds of litter, a 137% increase over 2025. Even more remarkable, we removed more litter this year than during our first five seasons combined.
(9,724 pounds all time between 2021-2025 vs 12,522.3 pounds 2026)
Pounds removed per event per year:
