Walking For Rochester is officially launching the iOS version of our free community app, bringing the full power of our litter reporting and cleanup platform to both Apple and Android users. Since 2020, we’ve been mobilizing thousands of volunteer hours to build a cleaner city. Now we’re empowering every Rochester resident to take back control of litter in their neighborhood.
We’re also honored to welcome Alain Leroy, internationally recognized expert in philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, and social impact. Alain will introduce his new book, Venture Philanthropy Blueprint (VPB): Builders. Backers. Believers., and share decades of experience helping organizations and changemakers create lasting community impact. Whether you’re a nonprofit leader, business owner, volunteer, or simply passionate about making Rochester better, you won’t want to miss this opportunity.
Matt Apple, Co-founder and CEO of Walking For Rochester, will also unveil the organization’s vision for the future of litter reform, including how technology, community partnerships, and everyday residents can work together to build a litter free Rochester, NY.
Marlana Zink will share behind the scenes insights into the budding GIS dashboard Walking For Rochester is building, set to launch in late summer 2026. This piece ties in all the data points from the WFR app and more, giving us the ability to report, eliminate and track litter like never before.
Enjoy a free lunch, connect with local leaders, and be among the first to experience the official Walking For Rochester app.
